Our goal is to help our customers get the best prices possible for their old phones, by comparing all of the possible prices from dozens of mobile phone recyclers around the country.
It is worth noting that we ourselves are not recyclers but instead provide you with a range of prices from our trusted and selected recyclers. Your old phones or devices will be sent to, purchased by and also recycled by the merchant you select when placing your order.
Visit our contact page for various contact methods for both ourselves and also our on board recyclers.
Please note that Sell 2 Recycle is a comparison website, We do not buy your mobile phones or any other devices. You should contact your recycling merchant directly.
When you placed your order with the recycling merchant they should've sent you an email confirming the order with them which may include details on how to contact them. You should reach out to them and explain the situation and im sure they will help with your payment issues.
Different recycling merchants outline different periods of time for successful payment, this is normally displayed to you when comparing prices and should be in the terms and conditions of your chosend recycler.
If you cant find the contact information required or you continue to experience issues with your recycler then you can contact us
If you have chosen to receive a free post pack when placing your order the recycler should send this out to you within a few days. If more than a week has passed and you still haven't received it the we would advise you contact the recyclers customer service team directly.
Normally a recycler will send you a confirmation email as soon as they receive your phone / device. If it has been more than a few days since you sent the device to them it would be worth checking your junk emails to.
If youre more concerned about the device reaching them safely then you have the option to send it them directly yourself and use a recorded delivery method such as Royal Mail Special Delivery or another courier.
Postage packs can take a few days to reach the recycler, if it has been more than a week then contact your recycler directly to discuss the issue with them.
That's why we're here! If you search for your device using the search box on the homepage, our comparison engine will fetch all of the prices available for your mobile phone. If your phone is locked to a network then its worth noting that the prices may vary, but you can see the set prices for each network right there on the results page. You should also choose the correct condition for your device to get the most accurate price possible.
In the mobile phones settings there will be a section labelled something similar to "About this phone" or "About this device". Due to mobile phones having lots of different operating systems we cant give a one size fits all answer to this question. If youre having trouble then you may be able to find the information via the manufacturers website, or alternatively on your mobile phone contract provided to you from your network.

- Working battery
- Mostly undamaged - minor scuffs and scratches are generally acceptable

- Broken, Cracked or bleeding screen
- Unfunctioning or corrupt operating system
- Broken speaker, micrphone, buttons or battery
- Large Chips, dents or cracks in the body
- Does not have a battery

An IMEI number (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a 15 digit serial number unique to your phone. This can be used to identify your mobile phone, networks can also use this number to mark a phone as lost or stolen or even bar it from connecting to networks. On some occasions a mobile phone recycler may ask for the IMEI number before you send them the device so they can run their own checks on it and decide if they can legally purchase this device or not.
You will be able to find your IMEI number by dialling *#06# or alternatively looking it up in the mobile phones settings
No never, This would be an illegal sale and could land both parties in torouble with the police. When a recycler receives a phone or device they will check the IMEI number of the device. If it comes back as lost or stolen they will not pay you for it. You will not receive the device back and the police may be informed.
No never. The mobile phone recycling companies will not buy any phones or devices which are network barred. If you wish to sell this phone or device then you will have to first get the network bar removed which you can achieve by contacting your network.
This is entirely recycler dependent. Some recyclers state 7 days while others state 14 days. Our best advice is to send in the device as soon as possible
You should send a complete phone accurate to your quote. The device should be factory reset, with sim cards and SD cards removed. You should also remove and Apple iOS account / iCloud accounts or any Google / Samsung accounts which may prevent the recycler from accessing your phone.
Most recyclers do have free postage / a free post pack for you to send your device in. However if youre not happy with your final quote and wish to have the device returned, most recyclers will charge a small returns fee to cover their postage costs.
Even if they do offer a free service to you, youre not tied into that service and can choose to use an alternative tracked shipping service if you wish.
The mobile recycling companies on our system use a few different payment methods which gives you plenty of choice and freedom on how you wish to get paid. Not all recyclers have all of the payment methods but this is outlined and displayed to you when youre browsing prices.
The most common payment methods are:
- PayPal
- Bank Transfer
- Cheque
- Charity Donation
- Voucher or Gift Card
Most phones or devices get refurbished and then resold on, even sometimes to other areas of the globe such as India, Africa and Latin America.
If the device cannot be resold due to severe damage or if its just a really old model that there is no market for it anymore then it will be stripped down for parts, anything recyclable will be recycled. Minerals will be extracted and anything left over will be disposed of in the most environmentally way possible.
No there is no limit on how many devices you wish to sell. Using our service you can even make sure you get the best price possible for each individual one. However if you wish to recycle them in bulk then you can contact us
Possibly, its best to contact us first so we can reach out to all of our recyclers on your behalf and get you a quote.
